Firefox vs Internet Explorer - 50 : 12
Acid3 is a test suite published and promoted by the Web Standards Project to identify web page rendering flaws in browsers and authoring tools. An Acid3 test has been in development since April 2007 by Ian Hickson.
Unlike Acid2, the third Acid test focuses primarily on the DOM and JavaScript, including only elements from specifications as of 2004. When successful, the Acid3 test displays a gradually increasing percentage counter with colored rectangles in the background. The percentage displayed is based on the amount of sub-tests passed.
Traditionally, the Acid test has served as a way to get browser vendors in line by testing them on really-annoying edge cases.
Let’s compare two greatest competitors : Firefox and Internet Explorer.

Although both Firefox 2 and Internet Explorer didn’t pss the test, Firefox got much better result. Firefox 3 beta 2 was closer to the 100 points, but there is still much to be done. Will Firefox 3 pass the test?

Out of curiosity, do you know how well Opera did? On the Acid2 test I believe they did better than both IE and Firefox (i think they might’ve gotten it perfectly even)
PS: I’m not an Opera fan. Even if Opera got 110% i’d still stick to Firefox :P

I ran the test on the main 4 windows browsers:
Internet Explorer 7: 12
Safari: 39
Opera: 46
Firefox 2: 50
Have yet to try the test on any Linux or Mac browsers…

i tested firefox3beta4. it scored 67.
i dont use ie even i havent install ie7. But opera crashed about 30s. i am absolutely disappointed. firefox better than opera. but i use 20 may be 30 tabs and it uses only 80 or 90 mb RAM. But when i use firefox its up to 180 190 mb ram for 10 tabs.
