Clone your Firefox : How to export your extensions, data and settings.
Right now you can clone your Firefox with few simple steps. Don’t worry, it’s quite easy, actually. With another extra Firefox extension, you can easily export and import all your extensions, themes, data and settings.
1. Install FEBE and CLEO (optional) Extensions.
2. Set folder for Firefox .xpi files (files that store all the data that you export)
3. Pack all .xpi with CLEO (optional)
4. Install FEBE in your new Firefox and import all the information from files (or just one file if you pack it with CLEO).
FEBE is an extension that backs up your extensions, themes, and (optionally) your bookmarks, preferences, passwords, cookies and just about everything else Firefox offers (it can even backup/restore your entire profile). Backups can be performed on demand or scheduled for daily, weekly, or monthly unattended runs. CLEO (Compact Library Extension Organizer) is a companion extension to FEBE. CLEO will package all your backed up extensions and themes into a single, installable .xpi file. This extension helps you to quickly restore your Firefox wherever you are
With FEBE extension you don’t have to:
- install and configure all your extensions once again
- reenter logins and passwords
- install your themes
- install search engine plugins, reenter web forms data,
- configure Firefox.
This extension is really helpful when you format your computer or buy a new one, when you want to synchronize your office and home computers or when you often use other computers than yours.
Simply, you can have your Firefox exactly as it was!
FEBE review:
My firefox is pimped with more than 30 extensions, all crucial for me. The headache of having to reinstall firefox together with some 30+ addons and on top of that the Sisyphean work of configuring each single addon is unimaginable - a sure way to burn a day away.
FEBE is the only extension that allows entire backup of firefox, it does the job without a flaw and for that it’s a definite 10!
The bottom line is that FEBE is a must for anyone with more than 3 addons that are highly configurable - let alone someone like me with over 30. That’s a great job done on this addon! Truly useful !!!
